CCRTA says Vamonos

CCRTA is conducting an online survey to assess community opinions on present and future options for public transportation in Corpus Christi and surrounding service areas. This survey is in addition to the survey distributed on board CCRTA buses in late October and early November. Completing the survey will provide a chance to win an Apple iPad, gift certificates to local stores and “B” bus passes. DMC students embrace GIS technology

New dean of Student Engagement and Retention

Maddie Chalk/Editor In Chief Del Mar College underwent a school-wide reorganization of nearly every department including the offices of Student Engagement and Retention this past summer. Cheryl Gardner has spent nearly three weeks in the position of Dean of Student Engagement and Retention since taking over Sandra Valerio’s former interim title. Gardner said the position will take a little longer to get used to than usual due to the reorganization and because there was not a permanent dean in the position before her. “I didn’t come into a department that was already flowing and functioning at full capacity,” Gardner said.…

Obama promises to bring home troops

In a recent address to the nation, President Barack Obama claimed that the troops were coming home for the holidays. He readdressed the pledge he made after taking office to end the war in Iraq and bring our troops home. The president says by the end of the year the remaining troops, tens of thousands of them, will begin packing their gear and return to the United States. The war in Iraq will finally be over.
