Events in Ukraine, however, affect a Del Mar student, Viktor Glynyanyy, a political science major, and his family, as their concerns extend to their homeland. Costumes, tarot cards and more at museum

Amber Quaid / Managing editor The Art Museum of South Texas hosted a night of rock ’n’ roll entertainment on Oct. 24. Costumes, live music and Halloween-themed appetizers (mysterious meatballs, halloweenies and monster mash potatoes) were all part of this year’s Night at the Museum event. Will Vogt’s exhibit of rock ’n’ roll photos of Bob Dylan, Elvis, the Beatles and others was available for viewing. There were collectable pieces, such as concert posters and autographed items, on display as well. ‘Upside’ informs, entertains students

It’s time to set aside our differences

Kaliegh Benck / Editor in chief I’ve always felt that everyone should stand for something. I think that individuals should fully believe and defend what they feel is truth to them. I can’t say I grew up in the church but from ages 11-19 I adopted the lifestyle of a devoted Christian. My family attended a nondenominational church every Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday evening. Monday evenings were reserved for an hourlong session of prayer that was occupied by a handful of faithfuls. To date, only one person has perished in the United States after contracting the Ebola virus. All other eight cases of the virus in the United States have recovered or are still in treatment. So why is everyone still freaking out? Yes, getting the virus under control in West Africa is still an ongoing process.
