  Jonathan Garcia Reporter   Marvel actress Hayley Atwell has returned as the tough as nails Agent Peggy Carter with her own show on ABC. “Agent Carter,” which also stars James D’Arcy, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj and Shea Whigham, premiered Jan. 6 to fill in the gap while Marvel’s other show, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” is on its midseason break. Giving all an equal chance at success is paramount

  Regent Guy Watts believes Del Mar College is swarming with unprepared students and requests they be separated so as to not negatively affect the growth of the so-called best and the brightest. Del Mar College says farewell to Figueroa

  Cynthia Hagerman Reporter   Staff, faculty and administration got together to bid farewell to Del Mar College Provost Fernando Figueroa on Jan. 27 and to honor his accomplishments at the college. Figueroa, who also served as vice president of instruction, left Del Mar on Jan. 30 to start a new job with the Dallas County Community College District. Figueroa, who started working at Del Mar in December 2009, said he was very pleased with the progress at the college and that Del Mar has come a long way in understanding its pivotal role in the economics of the community…

Math lab returns to Coles with new technology, upgrades

The upgraded lab now offers students more technology and other resources than ever to help them get ahead. “We have all kinds of new technology, touch-screen monitors, iPads, Surface Pros and laptops,” said David Longnecker, a tutor from the Math Lab. “You can tell the difference from what it looked like before to now.” These resources aren’t only for math majors — they are available to all students, but the tutors…
