Career Kiosk opens at Del Mar

Students, staff and administrators gathered for the Feb. 24 unveiling of the new center, which is meant to help students research their academic careers and provide them with the skills needed to prepare them for the workforce. Students line up to save lives during on-campus blood drives

Sarah Fecht Reporter   The Coastal Bend Blood Center visited Del Mar College’s East Campus Feb. 16-18 seeking blood donors. Annual art show names winners

Lexy Garcia Reporter   The winners of Del Mar College’s annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture show were announced Feb. 20 during the show’s opening reception in the Joseph A. Cain Memorial Art Gallery. The Joseph A. Cain Memorial Purchase Award of $2,000 was awarded to Kurt Dyrhaug for the cast iron, small sculpture piece “Tonka Buster.” The White Library Purchase Award, also for $2,000, was awarded to Philip Laber for his multidimensional sculpture “Betrayed by Geometry and Time.” Margi Weir was awarded the DMC Permanent Collection Award and its $1000 prize for the piece “Variety Store.”     Honorable…

Phase 2 of new app to debut in March

Cayce Berryman Reporter   Since Del Mar College’s release of the VikingGo app in October 2014, the Web Services Department has worked hard to release Phase 2 of the project. Several new features have been incorporated into the upcoming update, which aims to make student life more convenient. The main features of Phase 2 include registration, map highlights, schedule at a glance, employee directory and the ability to view holds and grades.
