Apple unveils iPad Pro and much more

Apple unveiled its lineup of new products earlier this month, and the star of the show was the much-anticipated iPad Pro. Apple CEO Tim Cook stood proud in San Francisco during the company’s launch event, calling it, “The biggest news in iPad since the iPad.”

The iPad has gone through multiple updates since the release of the original in 2010. The user-friendly tablet went through a number of facelifts before the company released the iPad Air in 2013. The iPad Air 2 was unveiled in October 2014 and proved to be the most popular version of the device, but Apple has seen a large drop in sales since the September 2014 release of the iPhone 6 Plus.

The iPad Pro is definitely a monster of a tablet with its 12.9-inch Retina display. Apple reports it has double the CPU power than the iPad Air 2 and is refined with multi-touch technology. Packed in the near 13-inch display are 5.6 million megapixels, giving its user nothing short of mere perfection for their viewing pleasure.

Apple CEO Tim Cook holds the newly anticipated iPad Pro, which sports a nearly 13-inch display, during the company’s recent unveiling. He called it ‘the biggest news in iPad since the iPad.”

Although the new tablet is quite large, it only weighs just over 1.5 pounds and as an added bonus comes with four speakers, giving users 61 percent more volume when compared with earlier versions of the device. The iPad Pro is, of course, packed with exceptional computing and graphics power with its A9x 64-bit chip while operating on its newest iOS 9 software.

So how much will the new iPad set you back? You can get the Wi-Fi 32GB version for $799 or go with the 128GB one for $949, but if you’d like to add cellular ability to that it’s going to cost you $1079.

Apple, however, didn’t stop there. To give their customers more bang for their buck they introduced a first of its kind, the Apple Pencil. The new accessory was designed specifically for use with the iPad Pro and greatly resembles the structure and ability of a wood pencil. It features multi-touch technology and gives its user the ability to transfer between light and thick lines depending on the amount of pressure applied to the tablet’s surface. The pencil is even able to mimic shading like a real pencil when the user tilts it over the display.

In addition to the Apple Pencil the company revealed its new smart keyboard. It connects to the iPad Pro much like the Microsoft Surface, but is made with custom woven fabric. The keys are designed with springlike action and seamless, leaving no gaps between them and with the new smart keyboard being coated in a water- and stain-resistant finish, who can resist?

Apple also unveiled the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the Apple TV and the Apple watchOS 2. The new “phablet” has the added security to help prevent display breakage by being constructed of the same glass used in aerospace technology and will run on the new 64 bit A9 chip. The tech giant even added some additional colors such as metallic and rose gold, much like when it introduced the iPhone 5c in 2013.

Apple’s TV will run primarily on apps and its website reports this new experience will be the future of television. The new TV runs on new software Apple developed, dubbing it the tvOS operating system. This will enable users to talk to their TV with the same SIRI technology, but aside from watching through applications users will be able to play games and get the same satisfaction like they do from using apps on their phones and tablets. The new Apple watchOS 2 is not only a software update, but the company has added sport models. The new designs come in array of colors and interchangeable cases, faceplates and wristbands. The software update also gives its users new applications and will run faster than the previous version.

Depending on your budget you can pre order the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus now. It will be available in stores on Sept. 29, but depending on your carrier you may have to pay retail price. The 6s starts at $649 and the 6s Plus starts at $749, but not to worry — you can purchase the new iPhone directly from the company website and make monthly payments starting at $32.45. The Apple TV, although not an actual TV as previously rumored, is fairly cheaper with prices starting at $149. The actual “TV” is more like a small DVR box, but I believe the price is fair. As far as the new Apple watchOS 2, there is quite a jump in pricing. The cheapest version seems to be placed around the $300 mark, but can well exceed that and end up costing you around $10,000 or more.

  2. I needed to switch over to Apple computer, phone, and iPad because of software changes in my business. I was able to purchase a Macbook Air, iPhone 5se, and Ipad Air. These items were either an open box or refurbished with A ratings. Fabulous Prices, all worked and looked new. I am a faithful user of a popular online store that deals in the same items, however, I cannot get these kinds of deals, especially at this condition and prices.
