With the summer slowly closing in people can look forward to the annual event in Corpus Christi known as Buc Days. Started in 1938 and held on the bayfront, this is Corpus Christi’s longest running pirate festival.

Running May 4-14, the celebration attracts more than 45,00 people every year. Visitors can enjoy such events as the Buc Days coronation, dunking of the mayor, concerts at Buc Stadium, petting zoos, an illuminated night parade and the incredibly popular 10-day carnival.

In case people cannot wait for Buc Days to come around there is also a four-day rodeo in town.

Local businesses like Stripes, Coors Light, Joe’s Crab Shack, Whataburger and local banks are all joining in on the fun by helping out with these events. This special celebration has been part of Corpus Christi life for almost 80 years.
