Dia de los muertos festival

Culture, music and food is what’s happening this weekend in Corpus Christi, Tx. As it hosts it’s annual Dia de los Muertos festival this upcoming weekend Saturday Oct 28 in downtown Corpus Christi.

K Space Contemporary, Electra Art, and Axis Tatto are hosting the annual festival. The festival is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary by having music, piñatas, food trucks and plenty more this Saturday.

Riley Harriger, a tattoo artist at Axis Tattoo, said “That the event is always held on the last Saturday of October so that it does not overlap with other people’s plan to celebrate the holiday as welling their own way.”

“The festival takes nine months worth of planning and it has gotten bigger every year from when it started out as a block party,” Harriger said.

The festival will have three different music stages with different bands, musicians, or performers every 30 min

to an hour and a kids corner area as well for all the kids.

K Space Contemporary will host the 7th Annual Extravagancia de Piñatas so that teachers can win money for classroom art supplies.

There will be plenty vendors selling different items for purchase along with face painting and many food trucks selling delicious food.
