Pepe Serna entertains, inspires at DMC

One of Del Mar College’s most recognizable graduates returned to campus Dec. 12 to help inspire the next generation of actors.

Pepe Serna, a member of DMC’s Hall of Fame, visited with students in Kim Frederick’s theater class and answered questions about working in show business while sharing tips with the class.

“That’s life; when you get hooked on to something that you really like, jump on that bus and take it, it will take you there,” said Serna, who has starred in more than 100 movies, including “Scarface.”

Serna also told the students that no job is too small and that it wasn’t always about getting the job he wanted, but also calling his friends he thought would fit the role.
