Immigrant from Ukraine still has family overseas Cayce Berryman / Reporter  While political events and wars erupt worldwide, appearing on news and Internet sites, most college students go about their day-to-day lives, unaffected. Events in Ukraine, however, affect a Del Mar student, Viktor Glynyanyy, a political science major, and his family, as their concerns extend to their homeland. Glynyanyy arrived in the United States from Ukraine four and a half years ago. ‘Upside’ informs, entertains students

Campus bookstore holds toy, book drive

Kira Hays / Associate editor The Del Mar College Bookstore took part in the fourth annual National Student Day by hosting a toy and book drive. National Student Day is a program for college bookstores around the country to show appreciation to students who volunteer or participate in community service. At the Del Mar College Bookstore, students made donations for toys for patients at Driscoll Children’s Hospital during the week of September 15-26. During this time, the bookstore raised money to purchase toys for the children at Driscoll. Communications Lab open to all

Not everyone can make a crowd silent with their words, but with the help provided by the Communications Lab, students at Del Mar College can have that chance to make a lasting impression.
