Ultimate Frisbee thrown into spring lineup

Intramurals activities kicked off this month with the tennis singles and doubles night leagues.  The first set of matches were played on Feb. 15 on the Heritage Campus. Games will continue to run every Monday and Wednesday night until all scheduled matches are finished.  The 3v3 basketball tournament will return on Feb. 21 from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Heritage Campus gym. Games will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the championship on March 9. The tournament will be co-ed, so anyone is welcome to join a team. Running miles, bringing smiles

The Corpus Christi Food Bank hosted its 13th annual Miles for Meals 5K Run/Walk on January 21 at Waters Edge Park.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Coastal Bend Food Bank’s Kids’ Backpack program. This aims to provide a bag of nPtritious food to students who are identified as food insecure. Del Mar Intramurals hold table tennis league

Mondays and Wednesdays are table tennis nights in the Gym on the Heritage Campus. As of now participation is scarce. Roy Moya, interim Intramural director, said it has been difficult to complete the league because many of the competitors have been too busy with work or have chosen to attend outside table tennis tournaments rather than continue to participate in the league. Because of this, the current table tennis nights are non-competitive matches that are more for enjoyment. Flag football and basketball leagues set to begin at Del Mar

Del Mar Intramurals is hosting a 6v6 Flag Football League on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the football field beside the Gym on the Heritage Campus. The initial start date was set to be Nov. 1, but because of rain, the kickoff date has been postponed. The league will have a gathering on Nov. 8 to assess teams, rules and the schedule, while the first games will now kick off on Nov. 10. Volleyball league practice to be held on Oct. 18, League to start this Thursday

Del Mar is hosting a 6v6 volleyball league at the Heritage Campus starting this week. Roy Moya, intramural interim director, said there will be a league practice from 5:15-7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Heritage Campus Gym. “This will be to allow all the competitors to get acquainted with the team they’ve been assigned and so that the schedule can be properly set,” Moya said.
