Stunning exhibit that’ll make viewers ‘Shutter’
10 photographers from the area to showcase work Victoria Trevino/ Reporter Del Mar College will showcase the works of 10 local photographers in its first photography exhibition, “When the Shutter is Released,” which opens Oct. 3 at the Joseph Cain Memorial Art Gallery in the Fine Arts Building on East Campus. The exhibition will run through Dec. 5. Obama renews push for free community college
Escamilla, Board of Regents chairman help shape strategy President Barack Obama, along with Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, renewed his push for free community college during a speech at Macomb Community College in Michigan on Sept. 9. TRIO receives $1.2M grant
A new grant that Del Mar College recently received means the college will now have three TRIO programs in operation at once. The $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education will support the college’s Trio Educational Opportunity Center. Del Mar was awarded the TRIO Outreach Program Grant on Nov. 1 after a review of a proposal submitted by Patricia Benavides-Dominguez, interim vice president for Student Affairs.
