In a recent address to the nation, President Barack Obama claimed that the troops were coming home for the holidays. He readdressed the pledge he made after taking office to end the war in Iraq and bring our troops home. Handgun permits should be universal

Staff Editorial Proposed House Bill 822 would allow anyone with a valid state-issued concealed firearm permit to carry a concealed firearm in any state that issues such permits or does not prohibit the carrying of a concealed firearm. Of the 50 states, only Illinois does not allow concealed carry in any form. Every other state either has its own requirements to obtain a permit or accepts permits from another state. Trolls live everywhere, not just under bridges

A troll, while its origins can be traced back to myths and legends, has become a member of the Internet community with whom most people have had some kind of contact. Trolling is the act of going online and anonymously and continuously insulting a person or a group of people. Some people consider it a growing problem while others consider it to be an act of free speech. Rob Manuel, co-founder of the website B3ta, said that trolling is a way to release people’s desire to poke fun and annoy people; it’s about having a laugh.

Federal Judge pulls the plug on the sonogram bill

Staff Editorial Federal Judge Sam Sparks recently ruled that significant portions of Rick Perry’s emergency law requiring women seeking an abortion to undergo a sonogram are unconstitutional. This law would require doctors to describe in detail the size of the fetus and its organs and make available audio of any fetal heartbeat. Slated to take effect September 1. 2011,Judge Sparks stated that provisions of the bill violated the First Amendment by forcing doctors to engage in government-mandated speech. According to the exact wording of HB15 these are the requirements of the physician or sonographer who are performing these procedures.
