With the spring play “Measure for Measure” going into its second week of production, professor of drama Carl Yowell hopes students and faculty will come watch.
The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. on March 7-9 in the Bartlett Theatre. Tickets can be bought at theatre or online at www.delmar.edu/degrees/drama/events.html.
Nearly 700 students are expected to receive diplomas during Del Mar College’s Spring 2016 Commencement ceremony, to be held at 7 p.m. May 13 in Exhibit Hall A at the American Bank Center. All participants are required to participate in rehearsal, set for noon on May 13. Graduates must arrive by 5:45 p.m. for the ceremony and must be wearing proper regalia. Tickets are not required for guests and seating is not reserved. Guests should bring money for parking and should refrain from bringing tripods, air horns, flowers or outside refreshments. Work expected to be complete by February 19th When DMC students and faculty went on break over the holidays, campus construction did not. Students came back to noticeable progress — instead of dirt and debris, structures and shapes have taken their place in the middle of East Campus. According to Del Mar College, the updated completion of the project is at 21 percent, and projected completion for the assignment is now February 2019. Villarreal’s determination impresses court officials, who donate nearly $3K As the first in her family to attend college, court reporting student Trysten Villarreal was determined to do whatever it takes to succeed. Her biggest obstacle was money. Fortunately, that determination was noticed by a local judge, who got together with others at the Nueces County Courthouse and were able to raise $2,800 toward Villarreal’s education. Villarreal’s parents, who encouraged her to follow her dreams, had originally talked Villarreal into applying for scholarships to help pay her tuition.
