The Corpus Christi Police Academy is growing. Cadets will soon leave behind their current 8,000-square foot building on Corona Drive for a new 34,000-square foot facility on Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus. The academy had been at the location, a former shooting range, for about 40 years. “During the late ‘90s, early 2000s, they had plans for creating a public safety training academy. Expanded facility features upgraded technology By Haley Williams / Reporter After an $8.2 million renovation, Del Mar has opened the doors of the new music building. Featuring over 18,000 square feet of new space to prepare students for a career in the music field, the music building sits adjacent to the Fine Arts Center, “bringing the majority of DMC’s fine arts programs together in a complex-like area of the East Campus,” according to a Del Mar College news release.
