Have you ever wanted to dance like a pro? Well come to Del Mar’s own Social Dance Club and let some experienced dancers show you the ropes.
The Social Dance club meets at 1:30 p.m. every other Wednesday, with the next meeting being Nov. 1, in the Kinesiology Building, Room AQ 203.
Del Mar College’s 1412 Spanish students displayed a traditional “Día de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) Altar and Presentation. The altar followed Mexican culture, in which “ofrendas,” or offerings, are placed for deceased love ones, including candles, photos of the dead and some of their favorite foods, drinks or other items. The event took place Oct. 30 at Wolf Recital Hall on East Campus. This free event also included a dance celebrating the dead and performed by a DMC student dressed for the occasion.

Students registering for fall 2016 encountered both, but the wait times were not as long as in previous years thanks to several steps the college has taken to ease the registration process. Peak registration days were Aug. 23-24, and hundreds of students packed the Harvin Center on East Campus both days.
