Full-time police department focus on crime prevention

Del Mar College opened their first official police department in 2021 to create an establishment for on-campus law enforcement. Although DMC has security guards, having police officers on school grounds ensures that there will be first responders present in case of emergencies. Del Mar College Police Department regulates the security system to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.   The police department offers various services to make students feel secure at school. Social Forum at Del Mar College seeks to build community and support sustainability

Bring your friends and an open mind to Del Mar College this Saturday for the Social Forum. From public speakers to a trash fashion show, this event is a day-long opportunity to create bonds within the Coastal Bend community and to focus on environmental issues. The Social Forum will take place Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Retama Room on the second floor of the Harvin Center at Heritage Campus. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, come swap any pink item

DMC is hosting its first Pink Swap this October to raise awareness for breast cancer. Students, faculty, and staff can participate at the dining areas of each campus simply by bringing anything pink. Whether it is pink shirts, pink candy, or even pink pencils, get ready to think pink so you can show out for this special month! Behind this event is Odalys Rojo, an officer of Del Mar’s Student Government Association.
