Friday Science Seminar: The 2011 University Mars Rover Challenge

Brittni Young/Web Editor The Department of Natural Sciences will be hosting a Friday Science Seminar. Assistant Professor of Geology, W. Vernon Kramer will be presenting  The 2011 University Mars Rover Challenge. On June 2011, eight teams consisting of over 70 university students of all majors partook in the annual Mars Society Rover Challenge. The university students designed and built Mars rovers that were tested on Mars-like Terrain, near Hanksville, Utah to complete four tasks which included an astronaut “rescue”. One faculty member from each campus will be selected.
