Counseling Center plans Let’s Talk session for Nov. 8

As class work piles up through the semester, stress levels climb and students find themselves short on time. Even finding time to ask for help can seem overwhelming. Fortunately, the Counseling Center is bringing that help straight to the students.

They will be on the first floor of the Venters building from 9:15-11:15 a.m. Nov. 8 for their next Let’s Talk. Students can meet the counselors, ask questions about the services they offer, and even have an on-the-spot private session. Their signature inflatable blue couch lets students know they are in the right place.

“Come out and meet us for some free goodies and find out more about our services,” said Johanna Torres, counselor for the center.

Del Mar College offers a counseling service to students at no charge, with three full-time counselors licensed through the state of Texas on site. They provide students with help for issues such as anxiety, depression and couples counseling.

They will have free giveaways such as tech pockets for cell phones, stress balls and candy, and students who follow the Counseling Center on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram can get a free T-shirt.

The Counseling Center is available 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday in Room 233A in the Harvin Center. For more information, visit www.delmar.edu/counsel/.
