Love was in the air on Valentine’s Day in the Harvin Center.

Career Development, Student Leadership & Campus Life and the Campus Dining departments set up booths for students around noon Feb. 14.

Boxes of cupcakes lined Career Development’s table along with packets of information on services provided by the department. Students passing by helped themselves to a cupcake while Vanessa Adkins handed them info about the department.

Services offered by Career Development include help with resumes, mock interviews and a computer lab for exploring career options.

Student Leadership & Campus Life set up two tables at the back of the Harvin Center. One table was piled high with emoji pillows while the other had free desserts.

Bennie Clark, administrative assistant to the department, said the department does it every year for the benefit of the students. The one thing they did differently this year was to have a stack of emoji pillows for students.

Two co-workers, Odella Rodriguez and Stephanie Salazar, were the lucky winners of a raffle contest held by the Campus Dining Department. On Valentine’s Day they were served a romantic lunch right in the middle of the Harvin Center. The lunch involved a three-course meal, catered by the dining department.

“I can honestly say that they did an awesome job,” Rodriguez said. “It is very nice for Valentine’s Day.”

Rodriguez and Salazar have worked together for eight years in the admissions department.
