To celebrate March being Contemporary Art Month, the Art Center of Corpus Christi will bring music and art together for a program called “Now I See the Music” at 6 p.m. March 3.

Susan Sturman of Del Mar’s Music Department will perform Michael Shapiro’s Eliahu Hanavi Variations on the cello while art inspired by this music is displayed. The art, made by Diane Weiner, reflects the several themes and variations of the music, which is based on a Jewish prayer. This presentation originally premiered in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

While the music will be performed live at the event, the art piece corresponding to the music at the moment will be projected so the audience can make the connection between music and art. Those who attend are encouraged to walk freely from artwork to artwork.

Weiner’s work will be on display in the Bayview Room throughout March.
