On November 3, Jennifer Gentry, a Del Mar College student, and her family escaped a Rockport fire that destroyed nearly everything they owned. “I had to throw my son out of the window, and wait for them to come save me,” said Gentry. “I was nervous and didn’t know what to do.” Gentry and her family lost nearly everything they possessed, including their truck and all of their clothes. Maddie Chalk/ Editor in Chief   Recently-passed Senate Bill 1107 will now require all incoming students to any institution of higher education to receive the vaccination against bacterial Meningitis. The bill was originally approved earlier this year to only require students living in on-campus housing to receive the vaccination. However, this amendment – effective January 1 – will now include all incoming freshman and transfer students to any two- or four-year college regardless of their living arrangements.
