Buried treasures featured in new exhibit in Cain Gallery

DMC will host an opening reception for its newest art exhibit, “Selections from the Permanent Collection,” on Fri, Sept. 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the Cain Gallery on the Heritage campus. The exhibit features a curated selection of artworks acquired over the past five decades through the college’s prestigious CAIN National Art Show, which will celebrate its 60th year in 2026. Del Mar Heritage Campus unveils International Photography Competition

The Del Mar College Art Department will be hosting the new art exhibit titled “Texas Photographic Society 32: The International Competition” for the Fall Semester at the Cain Art Gallery, with the opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sep. 20. The open-juried exhibition features 49 photographs selected by juror Maria Beatriz H. Carrion, Assistant Curator of Photographs. When stating her selection process for the exhibit, Carrion said, “My goal was to highlight as many approaches and subject matter as possible.
