Tubas, baritones and more!

The annual Tuba Christmas Concert promises to be an afternoon of breathtaking holiday music performed by musicians in the Corpus Christi area.

The concert will be conducted by Dan T. Sipes of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi as well as Jeff Stone of Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

The concert will take place at noon Dec. 18 in the lobby of Plains Capital Bank, 500 N. Shoreline Blvd. Admission is free, and free parking will be available at A&M-CC as well as on the street at Plains Capital Bank.

Local tuba, euphonium and baritone players are invited to participate in the event and can attend rehearsal from 9:30-11 a.m. Dec. 18 in Room 127 in the Center for the Arts at A&M- CC.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. and requires a $10 fee. Tuba Christmas carol books will be sold for $20. Del Mar students join the stage with Symphony Orchestra

Join the Del Mar Master Chorus and Concert Choir as they present their annual “Home for the Holidays” concert. Performing alongside the Corpus Christi Chorale and the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, Del Mar College director of Choral Activities Dennis S. Richardson will serve as a guest conductor.

Del Mar faculty members Susan Sturman, Karl Kemm and Scott Hagarty will also participate as members of the orchestra. Mark your calendars for 8 p.m. December 12 at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Performing Arts Center.
