Students now have another option when paying for their meals in the Harvin Center. Campus Dining now offers the Viking Dollar Meal Card, a pre-paid card.

Anyone who purchases the card and adds $30 or more will receive a free cheeseburger combo, while anyone who loads $60 or more will receive a free large pizza and two 32-ounce drinks.

The new cards should help speed up the line, according to Leo Rodriguez, Campus Dining manager.

“The other card system was holding up the line. You had to punch the numbers; this one you can just swipe it and go,” Rodriguez said.

The new card is available to more than just students.

“It can be purchased not only by students, but faculty and staff as well,” Rodriguez said.

Parents are also able to add money to the cards.

Cards can be purchased at the East Campus dining hall in the Harvin Center. The dining hall hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. – noon Fridays.
