Many colleges add part-time faculty members Alexandria Rodriguez / Reporter Del Mar College has bypassed a nationwide shift in faculty and administration, according to a recent study. The study found that colleges nationwide are seeing a substantial shift in part-time and full-time faculty. The study by Delta Cost also found that colleges are hiring administration at a much faster rate than faculty. Dailykos.com, a weblog with political study on current events, reported that administrators at college campuses increased by 50 percent between 2001 and 2011. Del Mar College hosts weeklong celebration Anastasia Talarantas / Reporter Del Mar College honored its veterans with a week’s worth of activities called Salute to Veterans Week. The events drew active duty service members and veterans from all branches, plus a United States congressman. “Del Mar is taking the lead by providing facilities and services by creating a place for veterans to go and feel at home,” U.S. Rep. DMC is reinforcing its commitment to student success by providing a broad range of resources and services for pregnant and parenting students. Through support initiatives, advocacy, and legal protections, the college aims to help student-parents balance academics and family responsibilities. Assistant Dean of Student Engagement and Retention Sara J.
