The Social Dance club meets at 1:30 p.m. every other Wednesday, with the next meeting being Nov. 1, in the Kinesiology Building, Room AQ 203.
South Texas Underground Film hosted a multi-day festival at Del Mar College that included cultural films from over 20 countries. Students as well as the community turned out for the festival, which began Nov. 11 in the Wolfe Recital Hall on East Campus. Del Mar has hosted festival for over five years now, and co-founder Robert Perez was excited to hold it again this year. Two cultural films were shown the night of Nov. 11. Sarah Contreras has been a student her whole life, but teaching breathes more life into her. Contreras, who triple majored in speech, education and theater at Corpus Christi State University, now known as Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, also holds a master’s in communications studies with an emphasis in communication education from Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University in San Marcos. Contreras, a mother of two boys, has been a speech professor at Del Mar College for the past 27 years.
