New dean of Student Engagement and Retention
Maddie Chalk/Editor In Chief Del Mar College underwent a school-wide reorganization of nearly every department including the offices of Student Engagement and Retention this past summer. Cheryl Gardner has spent nearly three weeks in the position of Dean of Student Engagement and Retention since taking over Sandra Valerio’s former interim title. Photo exhibit to begin
A special exhibit, “Through My Lens,” featuring photography from eight continuing education students will open this month. Digital photography is just one of the personal enrichment courses available at Del Mar. These classes are ideal for people wanting to gain knowledge about hobbies.The courses are non-credit classes and have included clown school, hula, photography and more. Life after Harvey
Former Del Mar student Natalie Murphy is no stranger to hardships, which is how she knew she could bounce back from Hurricane Harvey. “You know it can happen, but it’s one of those things that you don’t think is ever going to happen to you,” said Murphy, who lived in Aransas Pass with her husband and three sons when the storm struck.
