The Kinesiology Department at Del Mar College is extending a warm invitation to all employees by hosting Zumba classes.
These invigorating sessions, offered weekly, are a testament to the department’s commitment to fostering a culture of health and wellness among DMC employees.
Wellness Zumba instructor, Perla Soliz has taught Zumba for 11 years.
“There is no right or wrong way to do it. Make it your own. The goal is to move and have fun! I’m happy to guide you,” said Soliz.
By providing accessible and engaging opportunities for physical activity, the Kinesiology Department aims to contribute to the overall well-being of the college community.
“I’ve been doing Zumba for eight years with Soliz. I started out in her class and been doing it ever since. I like it. It keeps me active … she lets you do it at your own pace,” said Jo Ann Leal, DMC Administrative Assistant in the English, and Philosophy department.
Joining these classes not only promises a revitalizing experience but also reflects a shared dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle within the Del Mar College family.
“For 15 years I’ve been doing Zumba. It gives me energy. It helps me to maintain my weight,” said Rachel Hernandez, who works at DMC Financial Aid office.
Zumba classes are on Monday and Wednesday at Heritage Campus Dance Studio from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
To join visit DMC website at Intramural Sports, Kinesiology & Education’s Flowpage (flowcode.com) or scan the QR code.

“Come comfortable with closed toe shoes, bring your smile and your water and let’s have fun,” said Soliz.
