Fun activities planned for Del Mar students before finals

From Monday, Dec. 1 through Wednesday, Dec. 3, every day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Student Leadership and Campus Life will be holding end-of-semester “Pre-Exam Jam” events.

On Dec. 1, students can take a break and relax with farm animals and free pizza at Mimi’s Mini Farm between GAMB and Venters Business Building. The free pizza and drinks will be located in Venters’ first floor atrium.

On Dec. 2, students can head to the third floor of Venters in Room VB 310 to the Student Success Center and de-stress with the Counseling Center and more free pizza and drinks. Students will have access to the resource fair, a massage chair, a Zen relaxation room, Legos, and coloring activities. From 1-1:30 p.m., the Counseling Center will host a Relaxation/De-Stress workshop in the same location.

On Dec. 3, there will be holiday ornament-decorating events at the first floor of the White Library (Heritage Campus), Barth LRC (Windward Campus), and the first floor of the Oso Creek Campus Library (Oso Creek Campus). Students can decorate holiday ornaments, enjoy free popcorn, snacks and drinks, and partake in other stress-relieving activities.

“The pros for attending Pre-Exam Jam are to help students know where the resources are that can assist with finals preparations such as Student Leadership & Campus Life offering free scantrons and blue books as well as unlimited printing; the Counseling Office offering a variety of workshops to relieve test anxiety; the Student Success Center offering a variety of workshops and one-on-one tutoring and Success Coaching; and last the library and all the resources to provide information to student during finals as well as year-round,” said Director of Student Leadership and Campus Life Beverly Cage.

On the day of each event, look for flags around campus that will direct students to each “jam.”
