Measuring up
Well so far yoga has been a lot more of a challenge I anticipated. I had assumed since I’m a runner I’d be able to keep up with the class. Guess again… I can tell I’m in a for a real workout this fall. On the first day of class we took body measurements to compare with measurements we’ll take at the end to see the benefits of yoga. Artist Barbara Simcoe serves as judge for annual drawing, sculpture show The Art and Drama Department kicked off its 57th annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show on Feb. 17, with a lecture given the previous day. This year’s guest juror for the show, Barbara Simcoe, an artist and professor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, gave insight into her life and vision for art using multiple mediums such as oil paintings and graphite. Born in Corpus Christi on Aug. 26, 1999, Christopher Garcia always loved the idea of working with a team to accomplish a goal. Throughout his youth, it was the passion he had to be a professional soccer player that motivated him to be the best version of himself. However, as time ticked on, he found new passions and excitements, such as building computers, to keep him focused and honed in on his studies.
