Every day, thousands upon thousands of letters and emails are sent to the White House from people who occupy all walks of life. Few of these attempts to correspond are read by the president, much less responded to, but Del Mar College student and Vietnam veteran Tony Hartwell-Garza says he was one of the lucky few who was noticed by the Office of Presidential Correspondence. Electric vehicle enthusiasts gathered at Del Mar College’s Center for Economic Development for the seventh annual Plug into the Wind Car Show. The free event marked National Drive Electric Week, a nationwide event promoting the use of electric and hybrid vehicles and the spread of information on them. Various car owners gathered Oct. 1 to display their eco-friendly cars and talk to people about them, and with plenty of different cars, there was a lot to learn about.
