DMC Bachelor’s Program

Del Mar College offers two bachelor’s degree programs, one in Nurse Education-RN to BSN and the other in Organizational Management and Leadership. This allows students to continue their education in the Coastal Bend while also saving money.

Both programs are designed for students who have already earned an associate degree and want to advance their education.

The RN to BSN program gives the opportunity for registered nurses to strengthen their clinical skills and develop their roles in leadership and education in the healthcare field.

The Organizational Management and Leadership program allows students with any associates degree to increase their skills in communication, leadership, and decision-making.

“I fell in love with teaching and the opportunity came up when Del Mar College offered a bachelor’s degree program in Organizational Management and Leadership,” DMC graduate Diana Mireles said. “I was lucky enough to be one of the first to receive their diploma in this. A position came up as an instructor/director of clinical education for the respiratory program. Without this bachelor’s degree, this job would not have been possible. I love what this degree has been able to do for me.”

Apart from the benefit of a short commute, affordability remains another big advantage. Tuition at Del Mar College remains significantly more affordable than the surrounding universities. Tuition for in-district students is roughly $1,750 for a 15-credit semester at Del Mar, compared to roughly $5,000 at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Students choosing to pursue their bachelor’s degree at Del Mar can expect to save from $10,000 to $20,000, depending on financial aid and other factors.

“Personally, it has shown me that you can do anything you set your mind out to do and hopefully that serves as an inspiration to others who want to further their career and education,” Mireles said.

The bachelor’s program for Nurse Education began in 2021, and graduates about 40 students annually. The bachelor’s in Organizational Management and Leadership began in 2024 and granted 35 degrees in its first year of graduates according to Dean of Business, Entrepreneur, and Health Sciences Jennifer Sramek.

With management degrees on the rise, Del Mar College projects to have about 70 bachelor graduates annually in the upcoming years.

“We are in the early stages of investigating some of the opportunities, but we haven’t committed to another one yet,” Sramek said.

As the field grows in management and healthcare, Del Mar College’s bachelor’s programs offer a practical and cost-effective option, helping students achieve their long-term career goals without the burden of costly tuition associated with four-year universities.
