Azrael Montoya Author Patricia Bernstein recently visited Del Mar College to discuss her provocative book “Ten Dollars to Hate” and the parallels to today’s society. The book chronicles the flourishing of the KKK in Texas at its peak years in the 1920s. Texas prosecutor Dan Moody was the greatest opposition to the Klan and their goals for 1920s America. “I think personally the single greatest force that helped the Klan was prohibition,” Bernstein said. Film series in library on Fridays

The 2017 Curricular Enrichment Film Series was scheduled to resume on Sept. 1, but because of problems with the air conditioning and the elevators, the film series resumed with the movie “Tower” on Sept. 22. Merry Bortz, head of Library Technical Services, said the series can be a rewarding experience. “It is a wide range of movies to provide the students with a cultural experience,” Bortz said.
