The annual April Showers donation event benefiting Valdar’s Market, a market for all students that provides necessities and food, has begun. Valdar’s Market is seeking donations of hygiene products to support Del Mar College students and their families.  While the market is able to purchase food and some household goods through their partnership with the Coastal Bend Food Bank, hygiene products are more difficult to come by. Del Mar College set to unveil new Honor Wall

Del Mar College’s Music Department will be inducting members to the new Music Hall of Fame today, March 3, at 6 p.m. on the third floor of the General Academic and Music Building A, followed by the Music Honors Recital at 7:30 p.m. at Wolfe Recital Hall, Heritage Campus. The evening will begin with the unveiling of the Music Honor Wall, a new feature showcasing more than 300 Del Mar Music Department alumni going back to 1959.  The unveiling will include remarks from Cynthia Longoria, Chair of the DMC Music Department, and Scott Elliff, a 1980 Music Honor Wall honoree.…

Free tax filing assistance available at Heritage Campus for all

Free tax preparation services for students and the community are available again at the Del Mar College Heritage Campus for tax season. Del Mar has again partnered with United Way of the Coastal Bend to bring the VITA program, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, to help eligible taxpayers prepare and file their tax returns. Those who had a 2024 household income of $67,000 or less qualify to have their tax returns prepared at one of VITA’s sites. “The IRS partners with community groups throughout the country to provide free income tax return preparation and e-filing to low- and moderate-income taxpayers,” said…
