Celebrate the Holidays with “Holly Days” at the South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center

The South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center invites the community to its annual Holly Days celebration. This festive event, which began in 2018, promises a joyous experience for the whole family. It is held every Friday and Saturday during the holiday season, starting Friday, Nov. 29, running through Saturday, Dec. 21. The event is open Fridays from 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 2-7:30 p.m. MaryJane Crull, the center’s Communications Director, described the event as the perfect celebration for visiting relatives or college friends home for Christmas. Bloodmobile coming to Oso Creek Campus

Del Mar College will host a community blood drive with the Coastal Bend Blood Center on Nov. 18 at its Oso Creek Campus, located at 7002 Yorktown Boulevard. The Culinary Arts Program Offers Gourmet Lunch Services to the Public at Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus.  Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus is offering a weekly lunch service to the public, prepared by students in the Culinary Arts Program.  The service takes place every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on the first floor of the Hospitality and Culinary Institute at the Oso Creek Campus.  According to Jennifer Sramek, Dean of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Health Sciences, “Meals are available to the first 100 guests on a limited basis, with a maximum of two to-go meals per person.” …

Cooking classes offered at Oso Creek Campus

Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus is offering a new cooking course, “Secrets of the Chef!” during the Fall semester. According to, Franny Jackson, Program Manager for Continuing and Community Education, the beginner-friendly class explores a variety of world cuisines, with each session focusing on a different culinary style.  “It’s our commitment to the community to offer fun, personal enrichment classes.
