Selena festival returns for its third year

The third annual Fiesta De La Flor is Corpus Christi’s largest festival honoring the Queen of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla. The Selena wax figure is coming all the way from Hollywood for the festival. “Madam Tussaud Hollywood has been so overwhelmed with the response from visitors coming in just to see Selena’s wax figure. Safety is always an important factor during spring break, and drinking and driving can easily ruin your future when it comes to getting a DWI or even worse. You can hurt yourself or someone else. According to Ralph Torres with the Corpus Christi Police Department, area law enforcement agencies will be out looking for people driving under the influence of alcohol and underage drinking. Bluebonnet Room off limits to students

The student lounge was closed in spring 2016 and has become a storage space for Campus Dining. “Students were being very destructive,” said Beverly Cage, director of Student Leadership & Campus Life. “The whole top of the pool table is going to have to be refurbished. Students shoot for the stars

Four Del Mar College students were given the opportunity to work with NASA engineers at John C. Stennis Space Center in Southern Mississippi in April through the NCAS program. The NCAS, also known as the National Community College Aerospace Scholars program, offers the experience to students interested in careers such as mathematics, science, engineering and technology, also know as the STEM career. “Being at NASA was a wonderful experience. Del Mar College students, along with members of the community, will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with maria- chis, tamales, a piñata and more. Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday that is commemorates Mexico’s victo- ry over France in the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
