‘Thor’ sequel a fun superhero film

Title Fight’s new EP full of emotion

Midori Allen / Distribution manager Revelation Records released the newest EP by Title Fight, “Spring Songs,” on Nov. 12. “Spring Songs” continues right where “Floral Green” left off back in September 2012. The opening song, “Blush,” has climatic opening guitar riffs and drums with the signature vocals and wails from bassist Ned Russin. It has the similar sound from their albums “Shed” and “Floral Green” in one song. It’s hard to not feel the emotions that the bassist’s vocals put into the song. Mel Brooks’ ‘Young Frankenstein, the Musical’ comes to Del Mar

Halloween showing of ‘Halloween’

Ian Bomba / Reporter For all campus fans of horror movies, there will be a showing of the original “Halloween” at 2 p.m. Thursday in the White Library, Room 530. The showing will be presented by Veronica Pantoja, assistant professor of English, as part of the library’s Curricular Enrichment Film Series. Pantoja, a self-described “avid zombie and horror enthusiast,” teaches a 1302 themed English class based around the horror genre, called “Vampires, Monsters and Madmen.” This will be the fourth year doing a movie showing on Halloween night. Beach Fest shutdown raises questions

Amanda Jackson / Staff writer   Beach Fest was a music festival scheduled March 15-17 at Cole Park and McGee beach but was abruptly shut down Sat March 16 in the afternoon at Cole Park. “Beach Fest was supposed to be a community event to help charities,” said Beth Guarneri, the chair and event supervisor of Beach Fest and Director of the foundation, “it was suppose to be a big music event put on for the city to help not only my charity [The Elizabeth Guarneri Foundation] but other non-profits as well.”

Benefit for those affected by Beach Fest

Amanda Jackson/ Staff writer Beach Fest was supposed to be held March 15-17.  According to Israel Dinn, talent/security supervisor of Beach Fest, the event was shut down due to several factors. “Now these vendors and non-profits are out the money they invested,” said Dinn. Comics Live Comedy Club has pulled together and is hosting “The We’re Not Getting Cancelled Fundraiser” tonight at 7pm.
