It’s time to revitalize Corpus Christi, and the organization Plan CC wants you to be involved.

Plan CC is Corpus Christi’s new comprehensive plan. Corpus Christi is growing. The expanding population and economy are bringing great new opportunities, but we have to make sure that we grow into the city we want to be. Preparing for tomorrow means planning today. That’s why a new comprehensive plan to guide future decisions that affect our quality of life and support the city’s continuing prosperity is needed.

During 2014-15, Plan CC will create a 20-year policy and strategic framework for the entire city.

The planning process will be guided by an overall vision that embodies the unique character, culture and heritage of Corpus Christi.

The final plan will set goals, policies, strategies and implementation actions, all designed to make the vision a reality for our future.

The plan framework will then guide more detailed area plans and specific plans.

Throughout the Plan CC process, anyone who cares about the city’s future will have many ways to join public discussions that define our goals and values, to learn about the opportunities and challenges we face and to weigh in on choices for the city’s future, including an analysis of their costs and benefits.

When completed, Plan CC will provide a citywide vision, goals, policy and strategic guidance; a plan for future physical development; strategies for enhancing livability, sustainability, opportunity and prosperity; and strategies that equip Corpus Christi to seek positive change and deflect negative change, rather than simply reacting to change after it occurs.

It will also help with efficient use of taxpayer dollars thanks to plans for orderly investment in public facilities, services and infrastructure and an action plan to put the Plan CC recommendations to work.
