Nearly a dozen students took to the field at the track on East Campus on Nov. 28-30 for five-on-five soccer.

The Stone Writing Center hosted a Veterans Day event honoring our nation’s heroes on Nov. 12. The celebration was the campus’ way to recognize Del Mar College students, faculty and staff who have served their country and spread the message that there is a way to get help to receive aid of all types after serving. “We want to let everyone know that we are here to help with education and to the transition,” said E.J. Del Mar College barista Samantha Wilhite, a full-time barista at Café Del Mar is celebrating a personal milestone: the recent self-publication of her debut fantasy novel, “Hidden within the Ritarikari.” After years of writing and editing, Wilhite’s book is now available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. “I’ve been working on my book since the pandemic started,” Wilhite said, “Back in July of this year, I finished it and sent it off for publishing.” Her novel is a love story set in a richly imagined world of vampire royalty and magical kingdoms, weaving themes of choice, power, and destiny. Josselyn Obregon @JTO_News A former Del Mar College student says the institution, which promotes chasing dreams, has put her dreams on hold. Delia Susana, 24, is benefited by DACA program. Susana came to the United States as a baby. She started studies at a Valley school then moved to Corpus Christi with her family after high school and entered Del Mar College. She remembers her first experience to Del Mar College as a dream come true. Susana recalls that at that time many people helped her in the enrollment process and provided information to get financial aid and other services.…
