With a recent donation of $100,000 into the Hurricane Harvey Student Emergency Assistance Fund, more students will be able to get back to life as normal. The Coastal Bend Community Foundation contributed the funds so students can use them to pay for temporary housing, medication, replacement of personal belongings or books and other academic expenses. According to Karen Silva, development officer with the Del Mar College Foundation, the donation will allow the foundation to help more students and increase the awards that the foundation planned to give out.
