Yazmin Diaz introduced the professional guest panel, Charles A. Nickerson, a consultant for DMC corporate services; Teri D. Samo, DMC business instructor; and Gina Ronje, DMC financial planning counselor with Title V. Ronje spoke about salary negotiation, urging students to research the salary for the position, consider all benefits and ask questions before accepting an offer, and not to underestimate one’s own worth. French night on campus

Jennifer Gracia Yuliya Kruchkova, a French language professor at Del Mar hosts a French Night in the Foreign Language Lab located in the Coles Building Wednesday evening. Kruchkova introduces a “camara obscura” to students and speaks about shadows and imagery. “This was used as a form of entertainment in France, a long time ago.” Students brought different French themed foods, from croissants, French bread and international cheeses to celebrate French Night. “We like to introduce different cultures to students here at that Foreign Language lab.” Said Professor Javier Morin.

“The Foreigner” comes to life at Finley

Jennifer Gracia jgracia@foghornnews.com Gutsy direction and a diligent cast bring help bring Larry Shue’s “The Foreigner” to life at the Finley Theatre. The play debuted in the early 80s, yet still resonates with some of today’s hot button issues, such as racism and xenophobia. Shue’s play offers comic relief and Del Mar Drama did not disappoint. Under the direction, of Kim Frederick, The Foreigner delivered laughs, shocks, and a quick language lesson.
