There is nothing more satisfying than accomplishing one of your goals. For Jeff Gutierrez, one of Del Mar’s most accomplished students, making it to the World International Triathlon Union (ITU) Grand Final in Chicago is one goal he never thought he would finally reach. Gutierrez, who originally hoped to become a firefighter, returned to school to earn his associate degree in fire science and improve his chances of landing a job. TRIO program set to end

TRIO, a nationwide program that has been at Del Mar College since 2001, will end at the college on Aug 31. In its time at Del Mar, the TRIO program helped first-generation students, as well as students with low-income, disabilities or veteran students. Services offered by TRIO included financial assistance, college course help, tutoring and more for a limited 160 students per year. Roof goes up on new FEMA Dome

West Campus structure gets covered in just 20 minutes Samantha Douty Editor-in-chief Crews inflated the roof of the FEMA Dome at the Del Mar College West Campus on Friday afternoon. Inflation was temporarily delayed while workers removed excess water from the roof.
