And for many Del Mar students, it’s been a month full of volunteering. Some students were directly affected by the storm, and several others know of people who are still dealing with its aftermath. Mia Estrada Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation social media specialists Ryan Gonzalez and Orlando Narvaez caught many students’ attention when handing out condoms at the Viking Volunteer Fair. “We are hoping to assist anybody who is HIV positive to get connected into health care and also spread awareness of practicing safe sex or getting STD tested,” Narvaez said. Students are offered a variety of services at Del Mar College. These services are there for them to use if they need help or need to borrow something like a laptop or calculator. Del Mar College has an abundance of student services for nearly all majors. However, not a lot of students take advantage of these services.
