Del Mar College’s educational accreditation is reaffirmed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) for the next decade and the SACS committee had no recommendations or any follow-up actions related to the reaffirmation.
“Our re-accreditation efforts represent an honest, straightforward representation of our institution, which included its strengths and weaknesses. We have much to be proud of and many college employees to thank for their dedication and expertise in completing the process,” said DMC President Mark Escamilla.
Belle S. Wheelan, president of the SACS Commission on Colleges requested a one-page executive summary of Del Mar College’s Quality Enhancement Plan as a resource for use by other institutions also going through the re-affirmation process.
SACS also asked DMC officials for an “Impact Report of the Quality Enhancement Plan on Student Learning.” This is part of the college’s fifth-year interim report that is due five years after all institutions’ re-affirmation review.
“We’re committed to providing our students with a quality educational experience and training that impacts not only their lives but the communities where they live,” said Escamilla.
“I’m very appreciative of all employees who played a role in reaching this milestone of academic excellence here at Del Mar College,” he said.
Del Mar College’s next affirmation is scheduled for 2021.
