The White Library and Barth LRC have decided to extend their hours of operation for Fall 2018 finals.
According to Sally Bickley, Head of Library Public Services, this will be a trial run for the college and if things work out well this will be recurring every semester.
“We know that other academic libraries extend their hours for finals and this is a pilot project to see what demand we might get,” said Bickley. “We have talked about extending before but it just didn’t manifest.”
Andrea Labrador, Studio Art major, is on board with the library hours extending saying “There’s a lot of students that can use the computer lab or even just a quiet place to study would help a lot.”
“I would imagine we would stay open for other semesters,” Bickley said, “depending on the use and population counts.” The White Libraries will be open 9 A.M. to 11 P.M. on December 5,6 and on December 10,11 and will continue to have regular hours of 7:30 A.M. to 2 P.M. on December 7 and 9 A.M to 5 P.M. on December 8. The Barth LRC will extend their hours as well during finals having the same schedule being open 9 A.M. to 11 P.M. on December 5,6 and on December 10,11 and will continue to have regular hours of 7:30 A.M. to 2 P.M. on December 7, closed on Saturday and open 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. on December 9.
