Following its record breaking release, Marvel’s “Spider-Man” has added extensions to its gameplay. The video game, which sold over 3 million copies in its first day of release, includes its main story with three new DLCs, or downloadable content. White Library extends hours for finals!

The White Library and Barth LRC have decided to extend their hours of operation for Fall 2018 finals. According to Sally Bickley, Head of Library Public Services, this will be a trial run for the college and if things work out well this will be recurring every semester. “We know that other academic libraries extend their hours for finals and this is a pilot project to see what demand we might get,” said Bickley. “We have talked about extending before but it just didn’t manifest.” Andrea Labrador, Studio Art major, is on board with the library hours extending saying “There’s…

Writing center hosts Veterans Day event

The Stone Writing Center hosted a Veterans Day event honoring our nation’s heroes on Nov. 12. The celebration was the campus’ way to recognize Del Mar College students, faculty and staff who have served their country and spread the message that there is a way to get help to receive aid of all types after serving. “We want to let everyone know that we are here to help with education and to the transition,” said E.J. East Campus construction set to finish in spring 2019 Despite Hurricane Harvey, snow and heavy rains, completion of the General Academic/Music Phase 2 construction project is still set to open in August 2019 on East Campus, according to August Alfonso, chief IT officer and vice president of Facilities Operations. The $46 million project that started in summer 2017, funded by the general obligation bond from the voters in 2014, will include additional general academic classrooms and a second music building. Game On at the White Library

Del Mar College’s White Library will host its second monthly “Game On” night Oct. 18, where you can play as Mario and jump on as many turtles or go down as many green pipes as your heart desires. “It would be a good time to meet other people, socialize at school and take a break from class,” said Jennifer Jimenez, reference librarian. Jimenez said the first Game On night, in September, drew close to 60 students.
