Del Mar once again recognized students and employees for their outstanding achievements. Officials celebrated the 67th annual Recognition Ceremony on April 26 in Richardson Performance Hall. Edith Gonzalez, English professor, took home teacher of the year for East Campus, and Sylvia Kent Wells, nurse education professor, received the award for West Campus. Del Mar welcomed six students into the 2018 Hall of Fame, the highest honor a student may receive at Del Mar. Author Webmaster
Registered Animal Therapy Pets will be on campus Oct. 10 to help prevent midterm meltdowns. The event will feature puppies from Paws Up Inc., free anxiety screenings and aromatherapy for stress relief. Students at both campuses will have an opportunity to attend the event. East Campus will host the event in the Harvin Center, Conference Room 1, from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 10. West Campus will host the event from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 11 in the Coleman Center Student Hub. Bernie’s Famous Crawfish raises over $132K in 10th year The Del Mar College Foundation raised over $132,000 for student scholarships at its 10th annual Bernie’s Famous Crawfish Boil on April 12 at Concrete Street Amphitheater. Bernie Paulson founded the crawfish boil 10 years ago as a member on the DMC Foundation board. Paulson has long history of philanthropy with the Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s Fiesta de los Niño’s event, which he started 26 years ago.
