Dodgeball, basketball, indoor soccer and more to return
While many events will remain virtual this semester, DMC’s Intramural Program is bringing back some of its more popular games for students to play in person.
Students can look forward to dodgeball, basketball, indoor soccer, capture the flag and more this spring.
The department also held a yoga event on Jan. 21, which will continue both virtually and in-person.
Yoga will be offered from 1-2 p.m. Fridays in the dance studio in the Kinesiology Building at Heritage Campus. Students will be provided with yoga mats.
Anyone interested in dodgeball can visit the Heritage Campus gym in the Kinesiology Building to sign up and participate on the day of the event, Feb. 2.
Kristy Urbick, Intramural director and assistant professor of kinesiology, encourages students who have never been involved with the program to give it a try.
“It’s all about having fun and a great way to meet people,” Urbick said.
DMC’s Intramural sports program is working to keep a safe and clean environment for students to have the opportunity to interact with others during the pandemic.
“There’s something for everyone and we are willing to teach everyone,” Urbick said.
Urbick hopes that more students will participate this semester, whether it’s using the gym to work out or to come see others play.
