The Fall 2023 graduation application deadline is quickly approaching. Students have until Oct. 4 to complete and submit their application packets.
Students must meet with their academic adviser to complete the required academic evaluation. Those who fail to submit their packets by the deadline will be unable to participate in the fall graduation and must apply for the spring ceremony.
“If a student is registered for the course work to complete the program by the deadline provided, they should take the graduation application and meet with an adviser to get their program evaluation signed,” said Dale Anderson, chair of the Communications, Language and Reading Department.
According to Ben Hernandez, a MAP adviser for communications, fine arts and social sciences, there are many students who are unaware of who their adviser is or how to find them.
“The ideal place to go is online to the academic advising directory,” Hernandez said. “When you get to the directory, and click by letter, it takes you directly to the major you wanted, and what to do if you want to contact an adviser.”
Students must indicate whether they will be participating in the ceremony on their graduation application. Participation in the commencement is not required for the conferral of their degree. Diplomas will be mailed to recipients approximately six to eight weeks after graduating.
The graduation commencement ceremony will be held on Dec. 15 at the American Bank Center.
