DMC welding competition deadline on Oct 27

The Welding Applied Technology Program is encouraging high school students, college students and welding professionals to sign up to compete in the second annual Día De Los Muertos Welding Competition. The registration deadline is Oct. 27.

The welding competition will take place at Windward Campus in the Welding Labs of the Metals Technology Building on Nov. 3. The competition will begin at 8 a.m. with the award ceremony following at 3 p.m.

During the competition, the public is invited to check out a car show. The car show will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be vendors on site during the competition, along with the car show. These vendors will showcase the latest technology and equipment used in the welding field.

Students and professionals can register for the event with entry fees as follows: $25 for dual credit high school and college students, as well as “brother-in-law competitors” (two-person high school team), and $250 for welding professionals
